Ingram Content Group Expands Its Distribution Network with New Global Connect Relationship in Japan

October 15, 2021

NASHVILLE, TN (October 15, 2021) – Ingram Lightning Source, an Ingram Content Group (“Ingram”) business, expanded its Global Connect® print-on-demand (POD) and distribution network to Japan through an alliance with Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (“DNP”), one of the largest comprehensive printing companies in the world.

"We are pleased to expand Ingram’s Global Connect programme to Japan, enabling books within our catalog to be accessed, printed and delivered in the local bookselling markets quickly," said David Taylor, Ingram’s Senior Vice President of Content Acquisition, International. "By adding DNP to our network, we are expanding our reach around the world, helping publishers and retailers grow sales and revenue while quickly meeting demand."

“This is an unprecedented advantage for the Japanese publishing sector. Publishers will now be able to sell and export in several new countries through DNP and exponentially increase their print on demand catalog. Japanese consumers will now be able to purchase a wide range of books from publishers around the world. These include books from Latin America and Asia that have been seldom handled so far,” said Nobuyuki Asaba, DNP’s Senior Corporate Officer, General Manager of Publishing Innovation Operations.

Ingram’s relationship with DNP gives publishers access to high-quality, POD book manufacturing plus access to DNP's established relationships. Books printed at Global Connect locations adhere to the same specifications and quality standards in place at Ingram’s Lightning Source printing facilities worldwide. Ingram maintains file integrity and security, as well as reporting and payment remittance to publishers. Ingram's new Global Connect alliance in Japan brings the worldwide total to ten along with India, Spain, Italy, Russia, Germany, Poland, China, Brazil and South Korea.
