NASHVILLE, TENN (November 21, 2024) - Ingram Content Group (“Ingram”) announces that David Taylor, Senior Vice President of Content Acquisition International, will retire in June 2025 after a 40-year long, celebrated career which started as a bookseller at Blackwell’s bookshop in Oxford, England in 1983.
Taylor has been with Ingram in an official capacity since 2003 after serving as a consultant in 2002 to help develop new business strategy and publishing industry relationships in the United Kingdom, initially with Lightning Source UK. During his 22 years with the company, Taylor has worked to build the business outside North America, expanding Ingram’s global network to twenty-five locations throughout the world. These include Ingram’s market entry into Australia in 2010, establishing joint ventures in France and Sharjah and growing the Global Connect network which now reaches from Brazil to India and covers eleven countries. “Ingram’s growth and respected industry position we enjoy today in the UK, and globally, would not have been possible without David’s thoughtful, patient, and effective leadership,” said Shawn Morin, Chief Executive Officer at Ingram.
“David has been an important member of our team for over twenty years and he will certainly be missed,” said John Ingram, Chairman of Ingram Content Group. “David’s leadership and dedication have been a key component in our global efforts and he leaves us in a great position for the future.”
“I’d like to thank John Ingram for hiring me back in 2003 when the idea of print-on-demand was still in its infancy in the UK market and Lightning Source UK was a new arrival. It’s been both a privilege and a lot of fun to be able to explain the benefits to publishers and booksellers and to have played a part in Ingram’s journey into a global player. I still get a kick out of the thought that there are literally millions of books that have been made available to readers because of the impact that the Ingram model has had on the global supply chain,” said Taylor.
Ingram is beginning the search for a Vice President of Content Acquisition International.
