NASHVILLE, TENN – Ingram Publisher Services LLC announces the addition of new publisher clients to their distribution network including: Calexia Press, Hodder Education, and New South Books, effective July 1. Ingram also is adding Callaway Arts & Entertainment, for which distribution begins on August 5.
"These presses publish exceptional content,” said Mark Ouimet, vice president and general manager, Ingram Publisher Services. “We welcome them to Ingram Publisher Services' network and relationships, and are ready to help bring their books to more readers around the world.”
Calexia Press, headquartered in Chicago, is a new traditional publisher with an emphasis on fiction in the thriller and mystery genres. Calexia’s initial authors have all been published with Big Five publishing houses and include New York Times bestsellers and award winners. Their titles are supported by a broad national marketing campaign with assistance from an Emmy award winning online and traditional marketing company. Calexia’s first launch will be Blood Run, the next in Jamie Freveletti’s award winning Emma Caldridge series, followed by New York Times bestselling author Julie Hyzy’s new thriller in 2018.
Callaway Arts & Entertainment, a New York-based publishing house, excels in bringing hundreds of memorable groundbreaking titles to market. These titles include Georgia O’Keeffe: One Hundred Flowers, Passage by Irving Penn, David La Chapelle’s LaChapelle Land, The English Roses series by Madonna in 42 languages, and many others. Callaway distinguishes itself by developing brands across a multitude of media platforms, from books to 3-D computer-animated television programming. Callaway is also a pioneering publisher of children's apps as part of a wide-ranging digital publishing program that includes many best-selling mobile applications, including Sesame Street’s There’s a Monster at the End of This Book, Miss Spider’s Tea Party, and Endless Alphabet, with downloads in the tens of millions. Callaway's newest title Obama: The Call of History by Peter Baker has just been released with The New York Times and is climbing the charts.
“Elegant books have always been at the heart of our publishing program. We try to make meaningful books that sing on the printed page,” said CEO and Founder Nicholas Callaway, “and we could not be more thrilled to begin working with Ingram to reach more readers.”
Beginning in Fall 2017, Callaway will release a wide array of distinguished adult titles including new editions of many of its past best-selling titles, as well as leading-edge new works, including a three-volume boxed set by star architect Renzo Piano, and Miximal, an innovative, interactive folding children’s book by Lucas Zanotto, the celebrated children’s app creator of Loopimal and Drawnimal.
Hodder Education, part of Hodder Education Group, has been working with schools and colleges, expert authors and awarding organizations for many years to create quality print and digital resources. Hodder Education supports teaching and learning throughout the world, providing appropriate coverage for K-12 and vocational learners, and in particular for students following the International Baccalaureate & Cambridge International Examinations programs.
NewSouth Books, headquartered in Montgomery, Ala., is a publishing company specializing in regional books of national interest. The company began in 2000 and has hundreds of nonfiction, literary fiction, and poetry titles in print, including many award-winners. Founders Randall Williams and Suzanne La Rosa view their publishing program as mission-based, defined by its strong cultural component.
The Louisville Courier-Journal observed that NewSouth is a risk-taking, socially conscious publisher: "We gravitate to material which enhances our understanding of who we are and asks us to stretch in our understanding of others," says La Rosa. Williams adds that NewSouth specializes in books about Southern history and culture, especially those which examine the nature of the change and conflict which came to the region in the post-World War II era. "We believe strongly in the transformative power of information, and hope the books we publish offer collective insight that helps us grow toward 'the beloved community' and the fulfillment of the democratic promise.”
